If you've ever sent a final drive out for repair, you've probably lived through this at one point or another without realizing it: your unit gets diagnosed at one shop, shipped somewhere else for machining, sent to a third location for testing, and then routed back for final assembly before it ever heads your way. Every one of those handoffs adds days. Sometimes weeks. And every handoff is a place where accountability gets a little blurrier. Let’s face it: if something's off with the final product, good luck figuring out which stop in that chain is responsible.

That's just not how we do it here at Texas Final Drive.
One Shop, Start to Finish
Every final drive that comes through our doors (whether it's a new build, a remanufacture, or a repair) in Magnolia, Texas stays in our shop for the entire process. Teardown, inspection, machining, reassembly, and testing all happen under one roof, by one team, using the same standards from the first step to the last.
That's not a marketing detail. It actually changes three things that matter to you:
First, turnaround stays predictable. We're not waiting on someone else's schedule, someone else's shipping carrier, or someone else's backlog. When we say a job takes a certain number of days, that estimate isn't padded to cover for a subcontractor we don't control.
Second, quality control doesn't have gaps. When machining happens in one building and testing happens in another, there's more room for something to slip through. Our team inspects and verifies at every stage, because we're the ones doing every stage.
Third, accountability is simple. If a customer has a question about their unit, we don't have to track down what happened at a third-party machine shop or testing facility. We know, because we did it.
What "In-House" Actually Covers
To be specific about what stays with us:
- Diagnosis: figuring out what's actually wrong, which is going to include ruling out things that look like a final drive failure but aren't (a weak charge pump or a clogged case drain filter can mimic failure, and we check for that before recommending anything).
- Machining: precision work on housings, shafts, and components, done to spec, not approximated.
- Reassembly: built by technicians who work on final drives every day, not general equipment mechanics doing it occasionally.
- Testing: every unit is pressure tested, flow tested, and run under load before it's approved to ship. Nothing goes out the door untested.

Why This Matters for Reman Specifically
There's a persistent myth that remanufactured final drives are a step down from new. That "reman" is code for "good enough." It isn't, and our in-house process is a big part of why.
Because we control every stage of the rebuild, our remanufactured final drives meet or exceed OEM spec. We don’t do "close enough” or "should be fine." That's a standard we can actually verify, because we're the ones testing the finished product before it leaves our shop.
What It Means for Your Warranty
Standing fully behind a warranty is a lot easier when you controlled the entire process that led up to it. That's exactly the position our in-house model puts us in, which is why every unit we ship carries a hassle-free warranty: a 2-year, unlimited-hour warranty on new final drive motors, and a 1-year, unlimited-hour warranty on remanufactured drives (with parts and labor covered on both). We don’t have fine print carve-outs, and there’s no finger-pointing at a third party if something needs attention down the road.
Not Just a Texas Operation
Being a fully equipped, in-house hydraulic shop doesn't mean we only serve customers nearby, however. We ship final drives nationwide and worldwide, and because the whole process happens in one place, turnaround doesn't stretch out just because your equipment is a thousand miles from our shop.

The Bottom Line
We built our shop this way on purpose. Outsourcing steps might be cheaper or easier on paper, but it puts distance between us and the quality of the work. And that's not a trade we're willing to make. When your final drive comes through our doors, it doesn't leave until every step, from diagnosis to testing, has been done by people who answer directly to you if something's not right.
That's the whole point of doing it in-house: nothing to hide, nowhere to point fingers, and a final drive you can trust because we can show you exactly how it was built.
