Eaton Hydraulic Drive Market in US

At Texas Final Drive, we've partnered with Eaton to expand their hydraulic drive motor market to the United States and we recently started carrying their JPVJ back-to-back hydraulic pumps, too. Who is Eaton?

Eaton Global

Eaton was originally founded in the United States but currently has its headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. Eaton has customers in over 175 countries and 10,000+ patents held globally. They also have five global innovation centers: Prague, Pune, Shanghai, and two in the US (Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and Southfield, Michigan). These centers help Eaton to continue to developing innovative approaches to power management.

Eaton and Hydraulics

Eaton's entry into hydraulics was back in 1965 when their engineers developed a hydraulic-driven transmission. Five years later Eaton acquired Char-Lynn, known for hydraulic steering units and general purpose hydraulic motors including the innovative Gerotor Motor.  This marked the beginning of Eaton's focus on the LSHT motors used in the construction industry, of which we are the only US distributor at this time. Through the years, Eaton went on to acquire the Samuel Moore Company, Aeroquip-Vickers, Boston Weatherhead, and Walterscheid, among others.  Then, in 2012, Eaton specifically added hydraulic swing motors and track motors to their portfolio when they acquired Jeil Hydraulics.  Eaton is now one of the global leaders in hydraulics.  Eaton hydraulic motors include excellent aftermarket replacements for your excavators and CTLS.

Eaton and Golf Pride

This might come as a surprise to you: Eaton owns Golf Pride. This makes Eaton the world's largest produce of golf club grips. Golf Pride was founded in 1949 after a significant increase in the demand for golf clubs post WWII. Golf Pride was part of the Fawick Airflex Division whose specialty was clutches. Eaton purchased Airflex in 1968, and Golf Pride was included.  Golf Pride remains a part of Eaton's hydraulics division because of its association with Airflex clutches and brakes.
